Starting point
Product launches in the energy market carry digital-out-of-home budgets in the millions, with no defensible evidence of their effect on the debate. What gets measured is contacts and opportunities to see, that is whether a message could have been seen, not whether it changed anything.
Approach
Four measurement points across a year instead of a single snapshot: the market picture before launch, reception at launch, the campaign phase, and the tail afterwards. The same four points run in parallel for competitor products across the same period, so the client’s own trajectory is read against the field, not only against itself.
Use cases
- 01 Market picture before launch What is being said around the topic before the product exists, including the competitor products already part of that conversation.
- 02 Reception at launch How the product lands, and in what words.
- 03 Campaign resonance Whether the campaign moves the debate or only generates reach.
- 04 Stickiness What is still there once the campaign stops.
Outcome
The campaign was measured against the debate rather than against contacts. Across the four points it was clear how the topic stood before launch, how the product was received, whether the campaign phase actually moved stance, and what of that remained afterwards. The tail was the real point. It shows whether the effect ends with the media pressure or whether something stays, and that is the question the next budget turns on. For the first time it was possible to separate the share of spend that changed stance from the share that only produced visibility, and to see how the client’s own trajectory held up against competitor products over the same period.
What is next
The four-point rhythm carries over to the next launch, with the market picture and competitor watch as the baseline, so campaigns can be compared across products and competitors.
