Did the promise land where it was aimed?

Starting point

A political organisation wanted to know whether its campaign promises were landing across the country. Reach and clippings showed attention, but not whether the message carried. The two are not the same: a topic can be covered widely and leave the underlying stance untouched. That gap was exactly what could not be measured.

02

Approach

Stance analysis against their own position, topic by topic: where the public stands, for, neutral, against, and in what words. Alongside it the narratives driving the debate and the ones gaining traction, plus the multiplicators, the voices those narratives actually travel through.

03

Use cases

  • 01 Stance per core topic Where the public stands on your own position, continuously rather than at a cut-off date.
  • 02 Leading and emerging narratives Which stories drive the debate, and which are gaining traction now.
  • 03 Multiplicators Which voices carry your topics onward, and which push back.
04

Outcome

For every core topic the stance behind it stood in place of the coverage volume in front of it. That also exposed the gap between topics that were discussed heavily and topics where something actually moved. The campaign could then be adjusted while there was still something to adjust: concentrate the message on the topics showing movement, answer emerging narratives before they set, and aim outreach at the voices already carrying those topics rather than at the loudest ones.

What is next

The campaign project became continuous watch: the same core topics, measured continuously, with early warning the moment a stance turns.
